Netflix Movie Details Page Changes
The redesigned Netflix Movie Details was unveiled earlier this month to mixed feelings from users who voiced their opinion online at the movie rental company’s blog. After review of customer surveys and user research it was determined to place the most important information at the top of the page including a summary of the movie, the movie’s rating, cast members, and the general category.
The company also added some features to support easy navigation between different television episodes for the popular DVD Season releases. Features such as similar content were moved to the bottom of the page.
Some of the customers online wondered why features such as a Friends tab and Friend’s ratings were no longer available on the Movie Details page. Several customers felt this was one of the main reasons they stayed with Netflix and added movies to their queue based on the recommendations of their friends more than any other information. As with most interface changes there are mixed emotions, some positive and some negative.
